GRAHA and FHNE are excited to offer a 16U A Split Season Program this Fall. The program is designed for High School Ready players looking to practice more, develop faster, and be more prepared for the High School Season beginning in November.

Our split season model prioritizes development and team play. We are looking to prepare FHNE players and future teammates for the upcoming high school season.

• Practice & development–heavy structure
• Emphasis on skill progression, hockey IQ, and physical readiness
• For players expecting to play for FHNE or Varsity hockey in the winter season

This structure allows players to practice with purpose. Understanding team structure and building team chemistry early will improve consistently, and help players peak during the winter season

• 2010–2011 birth year players planning on Varsity Hockey in the winter: 20 Roster Spots
• Players who value practice, coaching, and development
• IMPORTANT NOTE: While the team will be biased towards FHNE, players from other school districts will be selected to fill the remaining spots. It is important that you speak with your HS coach prior to joining a split season team. We do not want players to have a find a new team in November.

The 16U A Split Season team will be led by Mike LaVallee, a coach known for:

• Strong player communication and teaching ability
• Creating disciplined, competitive teams
• Prioritizing development, confidence, and work ethic
• Preparing players for the next level

Each session brings structure, intensity, and a clear development plan.

Players can expect:

• High-tempo, structured practices
• Individual skill development (skating, puck skills, decision-making)
• Game situational play including video review and breakdown
• Team systems taught with clarity and accountability

Every practice has a purpose.

Practices (Approx. 25 80-min practices)

• July and August: Thursday Evenings
• September and October: Tuesday and Thursday Evenings
• Video Review will take place before practices once per week

Games (25-35 Games)

• Budgeting for 10 Home Games
• 12-16 Tournament Games (Targeting the following weekends)
• August Showcase/Tournament TBD
• September 11-13, 2026 CCM Howies Hometown, Grand Rapids
• October 16-18, 2026 CCM Motown, Detroit
• 10 Away Games

Program Costs are $1800 per player but is contingent on the number of players selected

• Includes all ice, tournament fees, Jerseys
• Includes use of a team locker room
• Includes Goalie Coaching: Matt Kaludis
• Includes Hudl Instat Video Service

This program will serve as a development program for FHNE Varsity Hockey. Participation in this program does not guarantee a roster spot on the Varsity Team in the winter season. The 16U coaching staff will not be part of roster decisions for the High School Season. Feedback and player development plans will be shared with players and their families only.
