What a great weekend for our kids, beating the Valley East Rebels (#1 team in Ontario)  3-2 in overtime to win the                               International Silver Stick Tournament in Sarnia Ontario!

Everyone that watched the Championship game would agree that it was nothing less than spectacular.  The kid's effort reflected their           character as individuals and as a  team.  They don't give up!     

If that wasn't enough, the Griffins were also recipients of the Bob LeClair Memorial Trophy.  "This honor is awarded to the team displaying the honorable qualities of  good discipline, attitude, ability and conduct, as well as general all around good sportsmanship throughout the Silver Stick Finals Tournament."  Winning is one thing, but doing it with accolades like this is the best!

Well done kids!  We are all very proud of you.

The kids started the weekend off strong and continued to get stronger as the weekend went on.  The Griffins went undefeated ~ only giving up 4 goals in 5 games while the offense continued to find the back of the net.  Overall a great team effort that was so much fun to watch.  Canada here we come!

 Thank you to all of our sponsors and participants in the 2009 '99 Grand Rapids Griffins Squirt AA Golf Outing.  We raised almost $9,000 and had a great time.
